In Dwarf Fortress you have the task of creating and managing a dwarven fortress. In this fortress you will need to manage just about everything. From training animals to finding food for your dwarves there is a lot to take in and manage.
Along with eating and drinking, dwarves will also require cups to drink liquid out of. Managing the mood of your dwarves is imperative to maintaining a successful, long colony. Not having a cup to drink beer out of is one of the things that will annoy your dwarves so it is very important that you have cups for them t o drink from. This guide will show you how to make cups.
How to Make Cups/Goblets in Dwarf Fortress
Making cups is quite easy once you are pointed in the right direction. Like most items, you will have to first make the correct workshop for cups. Without wasting time on useless bloat like most articles here it is. To make cups in Dwarf Fortress follow these steps:
- Build a Crafts Workshop in your fortress using a piece of wood.
- Once the craft workshop is finished select it to open up the workshop’s menu.
- Start the job to create a cup using the Add new task button.
- Wait until a dwarf assigned to crafting has finished the cup.
As with most things in Dwarf Fortress, the process can be fairly complicated when you are first starting. Once you have a handle on how to craft a couple of items, you can generally guess which type of workshop you will need in order to craft what you want. Furniture like beds and doors are crafted at the carpenter’s workshop, forges will make weapons, etc.
Why Do You Need Cups?
Cups are what I would call an ‘essential’ item in your Fortress. Cups are what your dwarves will use in order to hydrate themselves. If they don’t have any cup to use, dwarves will become sad. Considering how damn easy it easy to craft cups using wood, there really is no reason you shouldn’t have all of your dwarves drinking from cups like civilized humanoids.
