In Star Valor, you are able to very deeply customize your own spaceship and pilot it around the galaxy. Alongside weapons, equipment and different boosts you can create the kind of ship you want, whether it be a mining ship, a small speeder or anything else.
You can also have other ships follow you and create a fleet of ships to fly around and fight enemies together. This guide will show you how you can have another ship at your disposal be piloted by the AI and join you.
How to Create a Fleet of Ships in Star Valor
Star Valor will be a difficult universe to tackle on your own. With multiple factions going at it at once and bandits ready to shoot you down for loot, you may need some allies. In Star Valor, you can hire other pilots and crew members who can then be used to fly their very own ships. You can create a fleet of mining ships, fighters or whatever you wish! You can even have one ship follow you to use as a cargo storage ship.
First, you want to make sure you can find someone to actually fly the ship. Great another crew member to begin with to actually fly the ship we are going to get. You can check out this guide if you don’t know how to get more crew members.
Now that we have a friend to fly the ship, we can buy a ship for them to pilot and get them with us in the fleet.
Getting an AI Friendly Ship
You can purchase a second ship at most space stations. The types of ships that are available for purchase will depend on the space station you are hoping to. Miner factions will obviously have mining ships and so forth. Simply head to the trade area of the space station to get a ship for your fleet-mate.
Now that you have a ship, you can head to the Hanger to choose a pilot for the ship. Once in the hanger, select the ship in your cargo (or In the Station). You should now see a button that reads Add to fleet. Select this button and you can choose a crew member to be the pilot for this ship.
Once you select a pilot this ship will be added to your fleet!
Controlling Your Fleet
Now that you have at least 1 AI ship in your fleet it’s time to learn how to control them! There are a few basic controls that you have over your fleet-mates. The first key we should learn is the Z key. This will show or hide your Fleet UI menu. Here you will see a list of all ships in your fleet and can control what roles they have.
Beside each fleet member there are three quick buttons. These are:
- Role: Here you can select which role this fleet member has. There are three roles and this is changed by clicking this button. You can assign a ship as a Damage Dealer, a Miner or a Healer.
- Configure Behaviour: Here you can fine-tune options for this fleet member. You can change settings such as minimum HP before Warping away, whether or not they should collect loot and much more.
- Warp In/Dock: Here you can tell your fleet mate to join you and warp to your location or dock at the nearest station.
Alongside these individual options there is a bar at the top of the fleet menu to directly control your fleet. You can assign them to attack your enemy, hold fire and much more. Hover over these options for more information.
