How to Warp in Star Valor

Getting around the universe in Star Valor is going to be integral to being a successful pirate, trader or whatever you want to be! Every role will take you travelling across the galaxies. Nobody ever got rich staying in one place! Luckily you can warp across to different sections in the game.

This guide will show you how you can warp to different areas in Star Valor and give you a good idea on how to read the map as well.

How to Warp in Star Valor

Warping in Star Valor is to travel at light speed from one destination to another. In the game, this will be you teleporting from one galaxy to another. Also known as fast-travel.

There are two main ways that you can achieve this in the game. You can either travel through warp gates which is completely free but means you will spend more time travelling, or travel using a warp drive and consuming energy.

As you can imagine, warping through gates is very time-consuming but it means you won’t have to pay for gear to warp. Any ship can jump through warp-gates to different galaxies. Using a warp-drive to travel on the other hand, will mean you will need to purchase and install a warp drive to your ship and all the ships you wish to jump with you. Meaning if you have a fleet, you will need to install a warp drive on all of them.

I will go into more detail on both of these methods below.

Using Warp Gates to Fast Travel

The cheapest way to travel around is by using warp gates. When you open up the main map using the M key, you will notice all the different sections you can travel to. These sections are connected by lines. There are usually 2 or three lines connecting sections to other sections. These are points where you can travel between sections.

You can only use warp gates to travel to different sections by following these lines. Each of these lines is connected with a corresponding gate in the section. For example, you can choose which destination you wish to get to. Select that section on the map main, (Or hover over it) to see what that section is called. In the image below, we want to get to section 24, 17 and can see there is a line connecting it and the section we are currently in.

Now, we need to press the TAB key to open the section map. With this map open, we need to find the warp gate labelled 24, 17. Flying through this gate will warp us straight into the section we wish to go to.

You can use this method to go to further sections as well. Just make sure to find a nice line that will take you there. You may need to travel to a few different gates to get to your destination with this method.

Finding the right warp gate in star valor for fast travel

Next, we will go over the process of warping using a warp drive. A quicker and easier method of fast travel.

How to Install and Use a Warp Drive in Star Valor

I’ll preface this by saying the setup will take a lot longer than the other method but it is a lot better to use a warp drive in the long run for fast-travelling. First, we are going to purchase or find a warp drive that is suitable for your ship. Your best bet is to just purchase one. For this, head to any space station near you. Preferably in a peaceful section.

Head to the Trade section of the space station. Now look for a warp drive in the list of items for sale. Buy this and install it on your ship using the Hanger area.

Warp drives use your ships stored energy to fast travel. That being said, unless you have a lot of stored energy they will not work on energy alone. Warp drives will also use energy cells if you have them. If your ship doesn’t have enough energy stored up for a warp, energy cells will be consumed for the fast travel.

To fast travel using a warp drive, simply open up the main map using the M key. Here you will see all the sections. Select the section you wish to travel to and a Jump menu will appear on the top right of the screen. Here you can see how much energy or energy cells it will take to warp to this area.

Jumping/Warping to different planets in star valor

Sections that are closer to your current location will take less energy to jump to. Your warp distance will also be limited by the power of your warp drive. Smaller warp drives will only be able to warp/jump short distances. You will only get to jump a small area top begin with. As you progress to larger ships with more power and purchase larger warp drives, you will be able to travel larger distances in each jump.
