With massive scale battles and a whole arsenal of different weapons at your disposal, Mount and Blade Bannerlord is one of the best medieval war simulators out there. In the base game, your character has 4 weapon slots for you to fill up and bring to battle. But what if you want to change weapons?
Luckily in Bannerlord, you have the option to drop weapons mid-fight and pick up any of the others lying around on the ground. This guide is going to tell you how you can drop your weapons and pick new ones up.
How to Drop Equipped Weapons
Dripping your equipment is achieved via the G key on the PC version of Bannerlord. Tapping the G key once will drop the equipment that your character is holding currently, be it a sword, shield or bow.
You can also press and hold the G key to open up a weapon selection wheel. Here you can see all of your characters currently equipped weapons and single out one to drop onto the ground. If you change your mind and don’t wish to drop anything, you can hover over Cancel at the top of the menu.
Dropping your weapons on the ground can be useful in two ways:
- To make space in your inventory to pick up a new weapon should you already have 4 equipped
- To improve your characters movement speed in battle. The less total weight all of your equipment has, the faster you can move.
How to Pick Up Weapons and Items in Bannerlord
Now that we know how to ditch the gear, we will need to know how to pick it up again. To pick up weapons off the ground in Bannerlord, simply look directly at them and press the F key. The weapon name will be shown when you look at it so you know what you are picking up.
To pick up a weapon and swap it directly with the one you are holding, press and hold the F key.
A great way to find weapons on the ground if there is a bit of chaos around you is to hold the Left ALT key in. Holding down this key will highlight any weapons or shields which are laying on the ground, making them easier for you to find.
